CEO Ms. Alice Xie and Policy & Strategic Development Director Ms. Monaliza Magno of
Philippines Fiber Optic Cable Network Ltd., Inc. (PFOCN) attended the 32nd ASEAN
Economic Ministers’ Retreat Welcome Dinner, held on March 12, 2026, at the Grand
Ballroom, Shangri-La The Fort, Manila, as part of the official ASEAN 2026 Economic
Meetings hosted by the Philippine Government.
The event gathered economic ministers, senior officials, and delegates from ASEAN
Member States, providing an opportunity for dialogue and networking in support of
regional economic cooperation, innovation, digital transformation, and connectivity
initiatives across the ASEAN region.  
During the event, Ms. Alice and Ms. Monaliza met with several ASEAN leaders and
government officials, including Dr. Wah Wah Maung, Union Minister of the Ministry of
Investment and Foreign Economic Relations of the Republic of the Union of Myanmar,
and Singapore Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade and Industry Gan Kim
Yong, together with other delegates attending the retreat.

Ministers’ Retreat, highlighting the Philippines’ role as host of the ASEAN economic
meetings and showcasing the country’s commitment to strengthening regional
cooperation and economic integration. 
Ms. Alice and Ms. Monaliza also met with representatives from ASEAN Member States
and Philippine government officials, including Mr. Ekachat Seetavorarat, Deputy
Permanent Secretary of Thailand, and DTI Undersecretary for Industry Development
and Trade Policy Group (IDTPG), Vice-Chairman and BOI Managing Head Ceferino S.

Through its participation, PFOCN reaffirmed its commitment to supporting national and
regional development initiatives by contributing to the expansion of reliable and resilient
